Chinese New Year Maddies - Orange Burst Poster

This poster was developed for a client as a seasonal promotional campaign for Chinese New Year, featuring their limited-edition Orange Burst Maddies. The objective was to create a design that communicates festivity and warmth while keeping the product presentation clean, attractive and suitable for Instagram marketing.

For this project, I selected orange, gold and warm beige tones as they are strongly associated with prosperity, celebration and good fortune during Chinese New Year. These colours help reinforce the seasonal theme while maintaining a premium and inviting feel. The splatter elements were carefully added to introduce movement and energy into the composition without distracting from the main product focus.

In terms of typography, I combined different font styles to establish clear visual hierarchy. “Chinese New Year” sets the festive context, while “Orange Burst” is emphasised to highlight the flavour. The handwritten “Promo” element was included to add a slightly playful and celebratory touch, making the design feel more engaging and less rigid.

The product was positioned centrally to ensure immediate visual impact. Soft lighting and visible powdered sugar details were intentionally highlighted to enhance texture and make the Maddies appear fresh and appetising.

Overall, this project demonstrates my ability to translate a client’s seasonal marketing objective into a visually cohesive and engaging promotional design tailored for social media platforms.
